The American Hazelnut (or Filbert) Tree are very easy to grow, and can be very productive. They make excellent nuts that are grown for commercial sale, normally in the Pacific Northwest. American Hazelnut trees normally prefer cool, wet climates to grown in, and will begin to flower in mid-winter. The nuts will normally ripen by the end of August, and drop in September.
